DNA success life

I think the DNA only has a little part for some jobs because not every single job is going to look at if your blood type is different or something like that. I don't know but to me this movie made it look like your DNA has to be perfect to get any job. That's not believable to me

Final Reflection for the Historical Thinking Unit

"writing history" by http://detroitfunk.com/?tag=writing-history published by unknown

How do historians read historical documents? How do historians write history?
Historians read historical documents by asking questions to the text and making connections- metacognitive reading.  They dig deeper into the text to find the meaning or importance of it.  Asking questions enables the historian to find more information about the document.  It helps the historian to possibly find hidden meanings or clues to what is happening in the document. Making connections throughout the text makes messages and meanings more clear and easier to understand.  This ties in using schema, or prior knowledge, to find out the intention of the document.  Historians write history based on what key events largely impacted the way life is today. It is sort of like writing a chain of events that ends up in the present.  The events that changed the pace of life in the past are the topics historians write about.

Evolving Thoughts about History Class

"My Thoughts On the First Day Of School"
What is history? What has your experience in history class been? What does history class look like?

History is the past that has a memorable story that people find interesting.  My past years of history class were boring and had a lot of notes.  I would like to have more fun in history class.  History class is about learning dates, places, and note-worthy people.

"My Thoughts on 10/1/12"
History is the events that have happened in the past, showing their importance today.  History shapes and forms the future. I love being in Mr. LS's class. We are always getting involved with interesting topics about the past and thinking about what we are learning, not just being told what had happened.  We have been taught that history is more than just memorizing dates and battles and places and people; it goes into more depth. My history class is so much fun because most of the time I forget that I'm in school, because the topics we discuss are way more interesting than 'what date did this happen' or 'who won the Revolutionary War'.It is stuff that is a little bit more interesting. But the way my teacher teaches it, it doesnt even feel like school.
